Port Harbor Railroad (PHRR) is a St. Louis connector and short-line railroad in Granite City, Illinois, serving an industrial port district known as America’s Central Port, which is a trans-shipment facility for rail, truck and barge, alongside the Mississippi River. PHRR connects with the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis (TRRA), and has daily connections through TRRA to BNSF, CN, CSX, KCS, NS and UP railroads. It also has connectivity with the CP Railroad via the Alton & Southern (A&S) and TRRA. PHRR has 12 miles of track including three (3) loop tracks for unit train handling. This year it handled 12,000 railcars. Motive power for the PHRR consists of 10 EMD locomotives. Attendance limited to 47 people. A meeting will be scheduled before tour starts, usually 5-10 minutes. The tour will be while riding on a bus. General Rules: No high heels, no weapons, no strollers or cases. Photography and videotaping are allowed. Shirts are required.
